In 1980s Brooklyn, a resilient family, evicted from public housing, refuses to succumb to homelessness or welfare. Instead, they construct their own home—one scrap of discarded wood at a time. The House That Love Built chronicles their journey of survival, ingenuity, and hope in the face of systemic adversity.

Renaissance Black Film Festival

Film Festival Coordinator/Programmer (2023)

The RBFF was created by Kevin Johnson in collaboration with creative agency Collectiveffort, and writer-director Micah Khan, to spotlight Black filmmakers in the industry’s blossoming new production hub, Albany, NY.  The festival showcased both narrative and documentary films from Black filmmakers across the country, and featured exclusive screenings of Black-directed international films.

Privilege (Short, 2019)

Adetoro, a born and raised Nigerian who recently moved to Queens, and Rashad, a Queens, NY native come from two different backgrounds. After tension arises between the two after a heated argument, Rashad and Adetoro find themselves in a situation that forces them to look to the other for comfort and safety.

This film won Best Short in The Twin Cities Black Film Festival (2020) and was an Official Selection of the Rapport Festival: Black Film Festival (2020).
